Visual identity for an online electronic music magazine.
Trommel is an online electronic music magazine and sharing platform focusing on events, music, and producers from the minimal scene.
In the process of working on a project, we are looking for a metaphor. In this client's case, we followed the meanings in the name, and from there, we took the original idea of the trommel. A trommel is a mechanical rotary screen that separates materials, mainly in the mineral industries. Trommel screens are used for the grading of raw materials to recover valuable minerals.
Finally, we got the following metaphor: Trommel — is a machine for separating talented and exciting musicians from the entire underground music industry. We transfer the main idea of the machine to a simple and recognizable logomark that looks great next to a text logo.
